West Ham United are trailing Leicester City in the race to sign Walsall full-back Rico Henry, according to The Express and Star.

The 19-year-old is one of the most exciting youngsters in the Football League and has been linked with a number of big club.

But The Express and Star report that Premier League champions Leicester are the latest to show an interest in Henry, whose price tag is thought to be around £1.5 million.

The report goes on to claim that West Ham - who have also been linked - are likely to be trailing the champions in the race for the youngster's signature.

Both clubs have fine left-backs in Ben Chilwell and Aaron Cresswell, with the latter certainly far more established than the young Leicester man, 19.

Cresswell is now a tried-and-tested Premier League player and it could be hard for Henry to compete with the 26-year-old, who joined the Irons from Ipswich Town two years ago.

Henry and Moussa Dembele were nominated for the Football League's Player of the Year award, but the duo missed out to Lewis Cook - then at Leeds United.
