Dodoo is currently on trial at Rangers from Leicester City, and he has been training with the group since the start of the week.
The 21-year-old has caught Wallace’s eye with his ability, and the left-back now is hoping that Rangers can seal a deal to bring the youngster to Glasgow.
“It would be nice to have him in,” he said. “He’s been in on trial for a few days and is looking fine. I don’t know what’s happening, but he’s looking bright.
“The same is true of the rest of the lads. We’re all in a good place. We’re training very well and looking forward to pulling the blue jersey on for the first time in a competitive game this season this weekend.”
It is still unclear whether Dodoo would be moving to Rangers on a permanent deal or a loan switch if he was to move to Ibrox.
The forward’s contract is coming to an end at Leicester, but he is highly regarded by manager Claudio Ranieri.
Dodoo made his breakthrough at Leicester last term, and he also spent time out on loan at Bury.
If Dodoo did move to Rangers he would end Warburton’s search for a striker, which has lasted throughout the summer so far.
Dodoo would be in competition with Kenny Miller, Josh Windass and Martyn Waghorn for a place in Rangers’ team.
