Burnley boss Sean Dyche is the man Sunderland want to replace Sam Allardyce, if he is appointed as England boss - according to reports.

Bleacher Report UK believes that The Black Cats are already looking towards life after Allardyce, after they gave the Football Association permission to talk to their chief.

Now it is understood that Sunderland are ready to make contact with Burnley, as soon as they get confirmation that Allardyce will be leaving.

Allardyce met with FA this week and Sunderland sources have told HITC Sports that they will not comment until the deal is done, but reports are now emerging about a possible successor.

Sunderland are ready to look around the world for a possible replacement, but they remain fans of Dyche - who they took a close look at before appointing Allardyce.

Dyche guided Burnley back to the Premier League last season, which added to his already impressive reputation.

Dyche also become embroiled in a regular war of words with Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka last season, so if he were to turn up in the North East - it would add even more spice to that rivalry.
