Ross McCormack is being priced out of a move away from Fulham, sources have told HITC Sport.

The Scottish international has long been linked with a move away from Craven Cottage, but he has instead signed numerous contract extensions, with the last coming just after January when a transfer to Middlesbrough failed.

Now, Burnley, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Sheffield Wednesday and Norwich City have all asked about McCormack this summer, but instead of the £10million mark which the player was previously told would be accepted, Fulham are pushing closer to £15million for their captain.

Now sources close to one of Fulham's rivals in the Championship have told HITC Sport: "The price is not coming down at the moment, and if it doesn't - I don't think anyone will pay it."

McCormack is now understood to be growing increasingly unhappy again at Fulham's stance and he was not involved in their opening pre-season clash with Preston North End.

HITC Sport also understands that Fulham are looking at striking reinforcements, one of which could be Leyton Orient's Jay Simpson, who the League Two club are looking to move on due to his high wages, although he was one of the top-scorers in England last season.
