HITC Sport understands Burnley close in on goalkeeper target.
Burnley are closing in on the signing of Charlton goalkeeper Nick Pope, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Burnley have been chasing Pope all summer and have seen several bids for the shot-stopper turned down by Charlton.
However, the Premier League new boys are now close to agreeing a fee with Charlton with the player understood to be keen to move to Turf Moor.
A number of clubs have been tracking Pope this summer, but Burnley were keen to win the race for the player's signature as they look to bring in cover and competition for No.1 Tom Heaton.
Pope was one of the rare shining lights for Charlton in a disappointing season last term which saw them relegated from the Championship and Charlton have been bracing themselves for interest.
The highly-rated custodian made 28 appearances in all competitions for Charlton this season and his impressive performances earned him a lot of plaudits.
If Pope secures his move to Burnley he will become Sean Dyche's first signing of the summer as he prepares for life back in the Premier League.
