Marko Grujic made an instant impression as a Liverpool player, scoring on his debut against Fleetwood Town.

Grujic became Jurgen Klopp's first ever signing as Liverpool manager back in January but he was instantly loaned back to Red Star Belgrade to complete the season.

Now he is at Liverpool, and has taken no time at all to get noticed, netting in the club's latest pre-season friendly, celebrating wildly - as if he had scored a late Premier League winner.

Grujic is a box to box central midfielder who is still just 20-years-old. He played 29 games in the league for Red Star Belgrade last season, scoring six goals.

There was a possibility manager Jurgen Klopp could have decided to loan him out again for the season, but this looks unlikely now.

While it must be remembered this was only a friendly against a League One side who were hardly at the top of their game either, his goal was an encouraging sign that the Reds have bought a good player.

Fellow new signings Sadio Mane and Loris Karius also started, while there was a role for teenager Trent Alexander also in the starting XI.

All the early signs are that Liverpool have struck gold with Grujic, and supporters were giddy with excitement over his performance.
