According to the Chronicle, Newcastle United still want to sign a defender, a midfielder and a striker in this summer transfer window.

The Magpies completed their fifth signing of the summer on Monday as they secured youngster Isaac Hayden from Arsenal.

He has signed a five-year deal at St James Park, with the club keen to develop him into a first team player in the Championship next season.

He joins Matz Sels, Dwight Gayle, Matt Ritchie and Jesus Gamez in making the move to the North East in what has been a busy summer for Rafa Benitez so far.

It appears he has not finished his business just yet though, with the Chronicle reporting the Spaniard is still seeking a new centre-back, midfielder and striker for his squad.

His main priority will likely be the first of those three reported targets, with the club currently short in defence.

Fabricio Coloccini has made a return to Argentina with San Lorenzo this summer, while Steven Taylor was allowed to leave on a free transfer also.

Chancel Mbemba and Jamaal Lascelles are their only centre back options at present, meaning signings are a necessity ahead of the new season.
