Leeds United have joined the race to sign US international Danny Williams, report the Reading Chronicle.

Wolves are also keen on the Reading midfielder, who has only one year left on his current deal with the Royals.

Williams is a central midfielder who scored six goals last season, and he could be a useful addition for Leeds, who sold Lewis Cook to Bournemouth over the weekend.

Reading are unlikely to resist offers for Williams, with the Newcastle Evening Chronicle reporting that the midfielder has been 'offered' to various clubs.

Williams has 20 international caps for the USA, scoring his first goal for his country against Brazil last year.

Born in Germany, he began his career in the country before signing for Reading in 2013, where he has gone on to make more than 100 appearances.

Williams is currently at a training camp in Holland with his club, the Reading Chronicle report.
