Liverpool's Emre Can in action with Bordeaux's Diego Rolan
According to SportItalia's Alfredo Pedulla, Everton have entered into talks with Bordeaux over a deal for Diego Rolan - and are just over £4m away from an agreement.
The Toffees are expected to make a host of new signings this summer thanks to the investment of Farhad Moshiri, and new manager Ronald Koeman has made just one addition so far, with goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg arriving.
Now, Koeman will be looking to turn his attention elsewhere, and another attacking option should be a priority, given that questions surround the future of striker Romelu Lukaku, whilst January signing Oumar Niasse has failed to make any sort of impact at Goodison Park.
Intriguingly, SportItalia's Alfredo Pedulla claims that Everton are in talks with French club Bordeaux about a deal to sign striker Diego Rolan, but have yet to strike a deal.
Rolan, 23, joined Bordeaux from Defensor Sporting in his native Uruguay back in 2013, and has hit 24 league goals for the Ligue 1 side, including 15 in the 2014/15 season and seven last term.
A quick forward who can play out wide or up front, the Uruguayan international appears to have caught Everton's attention, with Pedulla claiming that the Toffees have offered €15m (£12.75m) for Rolan.
However, it's claimed that Bordeaux currently want €20m (£17m) for their prized asset, and whilst they could meet halfway at €17.5m (£14.85m), Bordeaux officials will meet today in order to decide their next move, with Everton seemingly pushing hard to land Rolan this summer.
