HITC Sport understands Brighton have sealed a deal for the League One defender.
Brighton & Hove Albion have agreed a deal for Fleetwood Town youngster Tyler Forbes, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Brighton have been chasing Forbes for several weeks and now a deal has been agreed between all parties.
HITC Sport understands Forbes has signed a two-year deal at the Amex Stadium and will initially link up with Brighton's under-21s before making the step up to Chris Hughton's first-team plans.
Forbes has made 33 appearances in League One for Fleetwood during the last two seasons after joining the club from Preston North End.
Forbes was highly-regarded at Highbury, but he saw his path to the first-team at Fleetwood blocked by Northern Ireland international Conor McLaughlin and he decided to turn down a new deal at Fleetwood to move on for a new challenge.
Brighton boss Hughton is keen to strengthen his full-back options after releasing veteran defender Inigo Calderon at the end of last season and he sees Forbes as someone for the future.
Forbes will become Brighton's third signing of the summer following the arrival of Steve Sidwell on a free transfer and Glenn Murray on loan from Bournemouth.
