Southampton completed their second summer signing yesterday.
Southampton manager Claude Puel will be targeting a new right-back after completing the signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Bayern Munich, their second signing of the summer, the Daily Echo reports.
Hojbjerg joins Nathan Redmond as a new recruit at St Mary's but the new Saints boss would like a new right-back, with the Daily Echo's report saying that Puel has identified a player to fit into the attacking style of play he would like the side to adopt.
No names are given, but the player is said to be one of many new faces that is expected to be arrived between now and when the transfer window shuts in September.
Cedric Soares and Cuco Martina can both play at right-back and will come under pressure for their place in the squad should Puel be able to land his man.
Cedric was recently part of the Portugal side that won Euro 2016, while Martina's stand-out moment of his Southampton career so far was his spectacular effort in a 4-0 win over Arsenal last Christmas.
Given that it has been yet another summer of players leaving on the south coast, it is little surprise that with a new manager a busy remainder of the transfer window will be expected, especially before the new Premier League season gets underway, as Puel will look to form a side in his own kind of image and try to hit the ground running.
