West Ham United midfielder Diego Poyet has revealed on the club’s official website the discussion he has had with his teammate Adrian about Real Betis.

Adrian, who is 29 years of age and plays as a goalkeeper, is a former Betis player and is a fan of the Spanish club.

Poyet’s father, Gus, was recently appointed the new manager of Betis. The 21-year-old midfielder has shared the discussion he has with Adrian about the Spanish outfit.

West Ham's Adrian celebrates their first goal

“Adrian has told me that his whole family are Betis fans and have season tickets, so I’ll have to tell my old man to make sure they work hard and have a good pre-season, or else I’ll have Adrian on my back every day in training,” Diego Poyet told West Ham’s official website.

“Dad is happy. He had a spell in Greece and used it as a stepping stone to get a job in Spain so he’s excited.”

While Gus Poyet will be looking to achieve success with Betis in Spain, Diego Poyet will be aiming to impress West Ham manager Slaven Bilic in pre-season training.

The Uruguay Under-20 international is a talented young midfielder, but he does not have much top-flight experience.

It is hard to see Poyet establishing himself in the Hammers’ first team during the 2016-17 campaign.

However, the youngster should try his best to impress manager Bilic during pre-season and earn a place in the club’s Premier League squad for the 2016-17 campaign.

As for Adrian, the Spaniard will be looking to have yet another successful season as West Ham’s first-choice goalkeeper.
