Confirmed Celtic line-up v Lincoln Red Imps: Rodgers hands start to new signing Dembele

New Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is presented to the fans after the press conference

Celtic take on Lincoln Red Imps in the Champions League this evening.

Celtic starting XI: Gordon; Janko, Ambrose, Sviatchenko, Tierney; Brown, Bitton; Griffiths, Rogic, Christie; Dembele.

Celtic substitutes: Fasan, Lustig, McGregor, Armstrong, Forrest, Roberts, Ciftci.

Celtic's Champions League gets underway in Gibraltar tonight, as they take on minnows Lincoln Red Imps at Victoria Stadium.

The Bhoys have failed to reach the group stage of the last two Champions League campaigns, and that's ultimately what cost former manager Ronny Deila his job.

New boss Brendan Rodgers now needs to go one better and take Celtic back to the big time, and it all starts with a trip to Gibraltar this evening.

It's Rodgers' first competitive game in charge of the club, and he's named his new signing Moussa Dembele in the starting line-up as Celtic's lone striker.

Last season's top goalscorer Leigh Griffiths starts out on the right hand side, whilst Tom Rogic and Ryan Christie also start in attacking midfield, supporting Frenchman Dembele.

Saidy Janko is handed a chance at right back, whilst Efe Ambrose - linked with a move away from the club this summer - starts at centre back alongside Erik Sviatchenko.

On the bench, rookie goalkeeper Leo Fasan deputises for the injured Logan Bailly, whilst attacking midfielders Callum McGregor, Stuart Armstrong, James Forrest and Patrick Roberts join striker Nadir Ciftci on the bench too.
