Arsenal fans tell Joel Campbell not to leave this summer

Arsenal fans have taken to social media website Twitter to urge Joel Campbell to stay put at the Emirates Stadium.

Following an extremely frustrating 2014/15 Premier League campaign, Arsenal attacker Joel Campbell enjoyed a much more fruitful time last season after making a total of 30 appearances in all competitions.

Although not always a regular starter, Campbell performed very well when given the opportunity and the Costa Rican star managed to win over the Gunners faithful with his committed displays.

Therefore, it was very surprising to see Campbell being afforded little playing time after February and many failed to see the reason why manager Arsene Wenger decided to consign the 24-year-old to the bench for majority of the second half of the campaign.

Given his lack of regular minutes on the pitch despite playing well, Campbell could not be blamed for having thoughts about leaving Arsenal and earlier reports (The Daily Express) had claimed that the former Olympiacos star was wanted by Turkish side Galatasaray.

Nonetheless, Campbell has not shown any public indication of wanting to leave Arsenal and the striker recently took to social media site Twitter to show his excitement ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign.

He posted,

In response, Arsenal fans have shown a lot of appreciation towards Campbell and some have urged the attacker not to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.
