According to the Mirror, Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel is expected to arrive in Istanbul tomorrow to complete a move to Fenerbache.

The defender has been tipped to leave Anfield this summer after falling down the pecking order under manager Jurgen Klopp.

Skrtel made just 27 appearances in their 63 games last season, and that situation was not likely to improve during the 2016-17 campaign either.

The club have brought in Joel Matip on a free transfer, while Klopp will also have youngster Joe Gomez at his disposal following his return from injury.

As a result, the Reds agreed a £5.5 million deal for the Slovakian international with Fenerbache last month, according to the Mirror.

He has also agreed personal terms over the move and, according to the Mirror, is now expected to arrive in Istanbul tomorrow to finalise the switch.

His departure brings about an end to a nine-year spell at Anfield, during which he has made over 300 appearances in all competitions and won the League Cup.

He joins a growing list of exits from Liverpool this summer as Klopp wields his influence over the club in his first full summer transfer window.
