According to a report in The Sun, Inter Milan have slapped a £43 million price-tag on striker Mauro Icardi, with Tottenham Hotspur interested.
Icardi’s wife has suggested that the 23-year-old would like to leave Inter this summer.
However, Inter are playing hard-ball over the transfer and will only allow the Argentine to leave if they receive a big offer.
Icardi has a huge amount of clubs trying to sign him this summer, but it is said that Tottenham are leading the race.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal have all previously registered their interest, but Spurs are believed to be at the front of the queue.
Indeed, Tottenham’s main competition for Icardi is now believed to be Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid side.
Tottenham are looking to add Icardi, as Mauricio Pochettino aims to increase the potency of his front-line.
Spurs are all set to add Vincent Janssen this summer, but Icardi could also be brought to White Hart Lane - as Pochettino aims to assemble a squad capable of competing in both the Premier League and the Champions League next term.
