Napoli's Gonzalo Higuain celebrates after scoring against Udinese
According to Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio, Arsenal are keen to land Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain - and are even willing to throw Olivier Giroud into the deal.
The Gunners have been fairly quiet so far this summer, landing just one major signing in Swiss international midfielder Granit Xhaka, but fans are keen to see more money spent as Arsenal chase the Premier League title.
Another striker is at the top of the wish list for many supporters, despite Olivier Giroud enjoying his best season in front of goal - and with Manchester United signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer, some fans are looking to see a big-name goalscorer arrive at the Emirates Stadium.
Now, Sky Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Arsenal are interested in signing Napoli hitman Gonzalo Higuain, but are reluctant to pay his £80m release clause.
As a result, it's suggested that the Gunners could offer up French striker Giroud in part-exchange in order to bring the price down, and Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri is a big fan of Giroud, even watching him play against Portugal in the Euro 2016 final on Sunday.
Argentina goal machine Higuain had hit an impressive 53 goals in his first two seasons at Napoli following his 2013 move from Real Madrid, but last season was simply historic as he broke the record for most goals in a Serie A season, with 36 goals in just 35 games.
Now, it's believed that Arsenal want to lure Higuain to the Premier League, in what would be a blockbuster move from manager Arsene Wenger.
It remains to be seen just how much Napoli would want for Higuain even with Giroud included in the deal, but interest in the Argentine star will be encouraging to Gunners fans who are looking for a big-name goalscorer.
