Nir Bitton (R) celebrates scoring for Celtic
Bitton has been linked with moves away from Scottish Premiership giants Celtic in the summer transfer window.
According to The Glasgow Evening Times, Spanish club Espanyol and Premier League outfit Arsenal are interested in securing the services of the 24-year-old defensive midfielder this summer.
Former Celtic striker Sutton has stated that he does not want the Israel international to leave the Hoops in the summer transfer window.
“There will be players leaving and I know there is talk about interest in the likes of Nir Bitton and Stefan Johansen,” Sutton wrote in The Daily Record. “I’d like to see Bitton stay. Celtic have a million midfielders but they don’t have many like him.
“If Espanyol or someone else stump up £10m then it might be too hard to refuse but Bitton is a good foil for Scott Brown and is a key player.”
Bitton is a very good player, which is proved by the fact that Arsenal are (reportedly) interested in him.
The former FC Ashdod defensive midfielder will be aiming to establish himself in the Celtic starting lineup under new manager Brendan Rodgers next season.
The Bhoys have already started pre-season training, as they prepare for the 2016-17 campaign.
Celtic will be favourites to win the Scottish Premiership tile next season, and they will be also be determined to progress to the group stage of the 2016-17 Champions League campaign.
