Mario Gotze - Germany scores the winning goal

The majority of Tottenham Hotspur fans will have been excited by the news that their club has allegedly held two rounds of talks with the father of Germany international Mario Gotze this summer.

That claim comes from German newspaper Bild, which reports that the Spurs hierarchy have met with Gotze’s father and manager Jurgen twice during Euro 2016 to discuss a possible move to White Hart Lane.

The report goes on to claim that Gotze has told his teammates a decision regarding his future will be made soon.

In other news, the Sunday People claims Tottenham are in a bidding war to sign Newcastle United midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum this summer.

The Dutchman was one of the Magpies’ better players during their recent ill-fated campaign and it is now being claimed that Tottenham are confident a deal can be reached as they have a number of fringe players they would be willing to throw in to sweeten the deal.

And finally, according to a report from De Telegraaf, Vincent Janssen is travelling to London this evening and will undergo a medical tomorrow ahead of his proposed move to North London.
