Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has told Sky Sports that Arsene Wenger has a big enough job to do at the Emirates before considering the England job.

England are currently looking for their next manager after Roy Hodgson resigned following the defeat to Iceland at Euro 2016.

A number of names have already been linked with the position, with the FA determined to make the right long-term appointment this time around.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly been identified as a target, especially considering that his contract expires next summer.

Campbell though, says he has a big enough job to do at the Emirates before considering the Three Lions job.

“He’s got a big enough job to do at Arsenal, especially after what happened at the end of last season,” he told Sky Sports.

“It was a fantastic opportunity lost. It was the best chance they’ve had in many years. He’s going to have his work cut out this season and he’s going to have to make it happen.”

While Campbell seems to believe that Wenger to England won’t happen, it is certainly a chance that England should look to take.

He is by far the highest calibre manager of the names to be suggested so far, while he is arguably the most experienced.

Given his time in England too, he is arguably the man who knows the most about the English game and could be the ideal candidate to take it forward after the disappointment of Euro 2016.
