Leeds United teammates Kemar Roofe and Chris Wood know each other from their days at West Bromwich Albion.

Newly-signed Leeds United attacker Kemar Roofe has explained to the club’s official website the strong relationship he has with Chris Wood.

Roofe recently joined Leeds from Oxford United on a four-year contract, as announced on the Championship club’s official website.

The 23-year-old is a highly-rated attacking player who can operate as a winger as well as a striker.

The former West Bromwich Albion prospect won the League Two Player of the Year award last season and has arrived at Elland Road with a strong reputation.

Roofe has revealed the relationship he has with Leeds striker Wood, having worked with the New Zealand international at West Brom, and he has also shared his appreciation of the 24-year-old

“I already knew Chris Wood from our West Brom days - I know he’s got the big chest and volley down to a tee!” Roofe told Leeds’s official website.

“I’ve been speaking to him. It’ll be good (to work together again). I know his game and he knows my game, so that makes our jobs easier.”

Wood scored 12 goals and created 39 chances in 35 Championship appearances for Leeds last season.

The former West Brom and Leicester striker had a pass accuracy of 60% and a shot accuracy of 39%, and won 128 headers, nine dribbles and eight tackles.

The New Zealand international striker and Roofe will both be determined to have a successful campaign for Leeds next season.

Having worked with each other at West Brom, the two will be aiming to form a formidable partnership up front and bang in the goals for the Whites.
