Aston Villa won their first pre-season match of the season 8-0.
Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish has tweeted his pleasure about being back in action, after Roberto Di Matteo’s side played their first pre-season friendly yesterday.
Villa beat GAK Graz 8-0 in their maiden run out of the campaign, with their performance being highly impressive.
Grealish was included in the second-half team that Villa put out, and the young midfielder was pleased to be back on the pitch.
By the time Grealish entered the field, Villa already had the match won.
The Claret and Blues were 4-0 up at the break, with Micah Richards, Libor Kozak and a brace from Andre Ayew giving the Midlands side a healthy advantage.
Villa did not relent, though, with Joe Bennett and Rudy Gestede both scoring twice to seal a comfortable victory.
Villa’s win was also notable as Stylian Petrov returned in the match to captain the side.
Villa are currently on a tour of Austria, as Di Matteo continues to prepare his side for the new season.
