Ajax head coach Peter Bosz has told CalcioNapoli24, as quoted by Fox Sports Asia, that Arkadiusz Milik will not leave the club in the summer transfer window.

“We agreed with him that he'd take this period of rest, and then return for the preliminary Champions League match," Bosz told CalcioNapoli24, as quoted by Fox Sports Asia.

"Milik really needs to recharge his batteries, he's emerging from a long and challenging season. Our objective is to keep him.

"Unplugging for a while can only be good for him, we don't want him to be exhausted already in the winter."

Bad news for Everton and Leicester City?

Bosz's comments will come as bad news for Everton and Leicester City, both of whom have been linked with moves for Milik in the summer transfer window.

La Gazzetta dello Sport recently reported that Everton want to sign the 22-year-old striker this summer (click here to read more), while talkSPORT claimed of the Toffees' and Leicester’s interest earlier this month.

Milik scored 21 goals and created 32 chances in 31 appearances in the Eredivisie for Ajax during the 2015-16 season.

In five matches for Poland at the 2016 European Championship in France, the 22-year-old striker scored one goal and created 11 chances.

The former Bayer Leverkusen man is a talented and promising young striker, and he would be a good signing for Everton or Leicester in the long term.

If Milik plays well for Ajax next season and continues to bang in the goals, then the Toffees and the Foxes should come back for him next summer.
