Steve Archibald has predicted on social networking site Twitter that Tottenham Hotspur will find it very difficult next season.
Tottenham enjoyed a hugely successful 2015-16 campaign and finished as high as third in the Premier League table.
This means that the North London outfit will feature in the group stage of the Champions League next season.
Spurs were in the running for the Premier League title until the final weeks of last season, and many fans will expect them to do the same in 2016-17.
Former Tottenham striker Archibald believes that Mauricio Pochettino’s side will have a very difficult season in 2016-17.
@SteveArchibald8 What about Spurs this season? Can we compete against the money?— Roger A Fiskerstrand (@rogerspursman) July 8, 2016
Very difficult season ahead i think ! https://t.co/XX1UZVQG8J— Steve Archibald (@SteveArchibald8) July 8, 2016
The 2015-16 season was a very strange one in which Leicester City won the Premier League title.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City all under-performed, and the trio will come back stronger next season.
Arsenal will be a serious challenger for the Premier League title yet again next season, while Liverpool will aim to finish in the top four at least.
Tottenham are going to find it tough even to claim a Champions League place, but fans should be optimistic about a successful 2016-17 campaign.
