Premier League-bound Middlesbrough have signed the former United goalkeeper on a free transfer.
As announced on Boro’s official website, the 34-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the club.
Valdes was available on a free transfer, having left Premier League and European giants United at the end of the 2015-16 season.

Valdes has struggled with injury issues and lack of playing time in recent years, but he is now fully fit and seems raring to go.
The 2010 World Cup winner with France did not have a great time at United, as he struggled for playing time at Old Trafford.
The Spaniard was able to make just two appearances for the Red Devils in the Premier League during the 2014-15 campaign, while last season he made none before being loaned out to Standard Liege in the January transfer window.
Valdes will be determined to have a good pre-season with Middlesbrough and impress manager Aitor Karanka.
