Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has sent a good luck message to Newcastle United new boy Jesus Gamez on Twitter.
Cazorla and Gamez played together for a stage at Malaga, and they have remained in contact since.
Cazorla now has sent his best wishes to Gamez, after the defender completed a move to Tyneside earlier today.
The tweet reads: "Good luck to @JesusGamez02 in his new career in the @NUFC, a strong hug phenomenon."
Gamez has signed for Newcastle on a two-year deal, after agreeing to a switch from Atletico Madrid.
The 31-year-old is Newcastle’s fourth signing of the summer, as Rafael Benitez looks to build a squad capable of achieving promotion from the Championship.
Newcastle have already signed Matz Sels, Dwight Gayle and Matt Ritchie this summer.
Gamez played 16 times for Atletico Madrid last season, and he is a high profile addition for the Tyensiders.
Newcastle’s players returned to pre-season training at the start of the week, with Gamez set to join them in the near future.
