Leon Osman and Reading's Aaron Tshibola jump for a header
According to TEAMtalk, Reading midfielder Aaron Tshibola will have a medical with Championship rivals Aston Villa ahead of a £5m move to Villa Park.
Villa have already made one signing today, with Verona goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini joining the club, and manager Roberto Di Matteo now looks set to make another swift signing.
After days of speculation, TEAMtalk report that Reading midfielder Aaron Tshibola is having a medical with Villa today ahead of completing his £5m move to Villa Park.
Tshibola, 21, has come up through the ranks at the Madejski Stadium having joined Reading at the age of just 13, and after a loan spell with Hartlepool United in 2015, he's now a first team star for the Royals.
A powerful, athletic midfielder, Tshibola appears to have a huge future ahead of him, and that future now appears to be at Villa Park as he completes the final stages of his big transfer.
Tshibola played under Villa's assistant Steve Clarke at Reading last season, and the Scot no doubt recommended Tshibola to Villa boss Di Matteo ahead of Villa's Championship campaign.
Intriguingly though, Tshibola started just six Championship games last season, and has played just ten minutes of action since the end of October 2015 having spend months on the sidelines with ankle and hamstring injuries.
Villa will hope that, with so much money invested in Tshibola, his injury problems are behind him, and he can reach his huge potential at Villa Park.
Do you think Tshibola is a good signing for Aston Villa?
