Everton have been linked with Manchester United's Juan Mata in recent times.
According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Juan Mata does not feel that Jose Mourinho’s appointment at Manchester United will be a negative for him.
Mourinho was the manager who sold Mata from Chelsea to United, after concerns over his defensive ability emerged.
However, Mata is said to hold no grudges over the Portuguese, and he is more than willing to fight for his place at Old Trafford.
Mata’s future at United remains in doubt, though, with Everton said to be leading the race for his signature.
Everton’s interest in Mata has been reported by the Daily Mirror, and they are pushing to get a deal done.
Everton felt that there was a window of opportunity to land the Spanish international, after Mourinho was appointed - but the deal could depend on whether the former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss sees room for the attacking midfielder in his starting line up.
Mata apparently sees no reason why he can't form a good relationship with Mourinho, and the partnership between the pair is now set to depend on whether Mourinho is willing to work with the 28-year-old.
Everton are said to be prepared to spend £20 million on Mata, as new manager Ronald Koeman looks to spend some of the funds he has been backed with this summer.
