Deportivo La Coruna are interested in signing Raul Albentosa from Derby County in the summer transfer window, according to AS.

It has been reported by the Spanish publication that Malaga have decided not to sign Albentosa on a permanent contract this summer.

The 27-year-old central defender played on loan for Malaga from Derby during the 2015-16 season.

It has been reported by AS that the Spanish club have decided not to take up the option to sign the former Eibar centre-back on a permanent deal.

However, according to the report, there is a chance that Albentosa could remain in Spain, as Deportivo are claimed to be interested in the defender.

Albentosa joined Derby from Eibar on a two-and-a-half-year deal in January 2015, but the Spaniard struggled at the iPro Stadium.

The 27-year-old centre-back could make just eight appearances for Derby during the remainder of the 2014-15 season.

The former Cadiz man created two chances, had a pass accuracy of 73%, and won 22 headers and six tackles.

During the 2015-16 season, Albentosa scored two goals and created 10 chances in 29 La Liga appearances for Malaga.

The defender had a pass accuracy of 69% and a shot accuracy of 47%, and won 51 headers, four dribbles and 22 tackles.
