Arsenal are reportedly ahead of their rivals for the Real Madrid striker.

According to the Mirror, Arsenal are leading the race for Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.

The striker has returned to the Bernabeu this summer after the club took up an option to bring him back from Juventus.

It appears that his second stint at the club will not be a long one though, with reports indicating that they are keen to sell him on for an easy profit.

There is interest in his services from across Europe, especially the Premier League, where both Arsenal and Chelsea are particularly keen.

Real Madrid have set a £65 million asking price for the Spain international, but this has not deterred either side.

That claim conflicts with previous reports from the London Evening Standard, who stated that Arsenal were not willing to pay £57 million for Morata.

Of course that stance may have changed, and according to the Mirror they are currently ahead of their London rivals in the race for Morata this summer.

They report that the 23-year-old is stalling on a move to Stamford Bridge, as the Blues will not be playing in the Champions League next season.
