Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers won their first pre-season friendly.
Glasgow Rangers trialist Oguchi Onyewu impressed with his performance for the Ibrox side in their friendly against Charleston Battery last night.
Rangers won 2-1 in their first pre-season match of the season - with Onyewu being handed his first start for Mark Warburton’s side.
Onyewu has been training with Rangers throughout the week, with Warburton taking his opportunity to assess the former AC Milan defender’s ability.
Rangers fans initially weren’t particularly enthused by the news that they had Onyewu on trial, but his performance last night did catch the eye.
With regards to the trialist I thought Onyewu was comfortable and strong in the air. Has to do better at the goal though.— David Peat (@DavidPeat1) July 7, 2016
Good workout for the lads. Played well in the second half and onyewu was fairly solid, bar falling asleep for their goal...— Croatia's Chosen Few (@Thesupergers) July 7, 2016
Defence slack and needs work done— Rangers Central (@InWarbsWeTrust) July 7, 2016
Onyewu, Windass, O'Halloran, Gilks all look good!
Goalscorer also needed.
Onyewu has impressed but I would rather have a younger CB with good current and potential talent— RangersDaily (@RangersDaily72) July 7, 2016

Rangers looked comfortable throughout their first pre-season match of the season.
The Glasgow giants took the lead just before the hour when debutant Josh Windass found the net, before Harry Forrester sealed the triumph.
Windass was playing his first game for Rangers since signing from Accrington Stanley, and his display has encouraged supporters of the Scottish Premiership side.
Really excited about prospects of Windass in this attacking Rangers team.Could be lots of goals from him.— 54 Beats 44 (@54Beats44) July 7, 2016
