The Tottenham Hotspur teenager is now settled in North London.
Back in January Tottenham Hotspur completed a move for Ebbsfleet United youngster Shilow Tracey. However, as yet the vast majority of Spurs fans have been left waiting to see the midfielder in action.
That is no surprise considering he is only 17 and understandably headed straight to the under-18 setup after his January move. But next season he will be hoping to make the step up and feature regularly for the under-21s or risk being left behind.
That may be a bold statement considering he has only recently arrived at White Hart Lane, yet Tottenham possess a vast array of exciting teenage talent and Tracey will know he needs to do everything in his power to get noticed.
He will also now know the level he needs to be performing at consistently after looking out of his depth with the under-18s at times last season.
Tracey was always going to take time to settle so that can be forgiven, especially when he also put in some impressive showings, most notably in a 7-3 victory against Wolves in which he played a telling role for three of Tottenham’s goals.
When you also consider the teenager was utilised at right-back on occasions, he was never going to hit the ground running and maintain that performance week after week.
But when you consider Tottenham’s under-21 side will be full of players around Tracey’s age next season, with Marcus Edwards, Shayon Harrison and Cameron Carter-Vickers among them, the former Ebbsfleet player needs to show he has settled and is ready for the battles ahead.
