Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers got their pre-season off to a good start by beating Charleston Battery yesterday.
Glasgow Rangers boss Mark Warburton has told the club’s official site that he was impressed by the performances of Josh Windass and Harry Forrester against Charleston Battery yesterday evening.
Rangers kicked off their pre-season fixtures in style, by picking up a 2-1 victory against the American side.
Windass and Forrester both got on the scoresheet for the Glasgow giants, and Warburton was delighted by what he saw from the pair.
“Josh has come in and settled really well with the group, and all credit to him and to the group for embracing each other in the way they have,” Warburton said.
“I thought he made an impression – he can change a game, showed a good change of pace and delivered in the final third.
“Harry, we know all about his ability and he had the injury at the end of last season, so he has a bit more work to catch up on, but again, really pleasing to get him half an hour and he made an impression.”
Windass set Rangers on their way to victory, when he lashed home a shot just before the hour mark.
The young striker converted a cross, after good work from Michael O'Halloran down the right flank.
Forrester then put a gloss on the scoreline by finishing well, to get Warburton’s side’s pre-season off to the perfect start.
Rangers are due to fly back from America tomorrow, and they will then continue their preparations for the new season back in Glasgow.
