Leeds United confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Robert Green on Wednesday evening, and Leeds fans have taken to Twitter in order to react.

The Whites had already added three new signings to their squad this summer, as striker Marcus Antonsson, defender Kyle Bartley and forward Hadi Sacko all joined Garry Monk's revolution at Elland Road.

One of the priorities for new manager Monk was to land a new goalkeeper with experience in English football, given that Italian stopper Marco Silvestri has had his ups and downs since signing from Chievo back in 2014.

Ross Turnbull missed most of last season through injury, and youngster Bailey Peacock-Farrell would benefit from a veteran presence - and Monk has landed a goalkeeper to fit the bill, as Rob Green has penned a 12-month contract at Elland Road.

The former England international, 36, was out of contract having been allowed to leave by QPR, who used Green just once in 2016 - and that appearance came on the 1st of January.

Over six months since his last appearance, Green is now looking to make an impact with Leeds, and supporters have been taking to Twitter to give their reaction to Monk's latest signing.

Fans are largely ecstatic to see Green arrive at Elland Road, as they felt that Leeds did need a veteran English goalkeeper, and think he can help advise and develop young stopper Peacock-Farrell.

Others added that Green is exactly what Leeds have been missing, and think he is the calibre of signing Leeds need to make if they are to challenge for promotion next season.

Do you think Green is a good signing for Leeds?
