Brendan Rodgers has hinted that Celtic could potentially have some new faces in the squad ready for the start of their Champions League campaign, the Evening Times reports.

Despite big changes being expected at Parkhead following Rodgers' appointment, the Hoops have so far completed just one signing, former Fulham striker Moussa Dembele.

However, after their friendly win over Olimpija Ljubljana, the Bhoys boss claimed that they are working on bolstering the squad further, and suggested that there is a chance that they could complete some business in the near future.

"We have a couple of items ongoing and if we can them done, then great. But we will see," he told the Evening Times when asked if any deals would be completed by Friday, which is the deadline for new signings to be registered for their first Champions League qualifier next Tuesday.

With their opposition in the second round of qualifying being semi-professional side Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar, Celtic should have little problem bagging a victory ahead of the second-leg at Parkhead, regardless of whether they have any new signings available.

Nevertheless, the supporters will surely soon want to see progress in the market to ensure that they have enough quality to clear what are likely to be tougher hurdles down the line if they want to make it into the group stages of the competition, and to ensure that the new signings have enough time to adapt to their new surroundings before the season really begins.
