A majority of Aston Villa fans appear to suggest that they would be getting the better of a deal, if Ashley Westwood does move to Burnley.
The Birmingham Mail suggest that Westwood is of interest to the Premier League new boys.
Villa fans appear to be of the opinion that Westwood would be a decent option for them in the Championship, but with a £6 million bid of the table - they are encouraging Roberto Di Matteo to sell.
Most Villa fans feel that Burnley are paying over the odds for the central midfielder, who is a solid rather than a spectacular player.
Westwood has class attributes, but also dire ones. No tackles, pace, strength, height, goals, set pieces, assists. Not good enough #avfc— Just Villa & England (@Holte_AVFC) July 6, 2016
Don't think we're ever going to get more than £6m for Westwood so take the money and run, a lot more than I thought he'd go for #AVFC— Michael Norbury (@michael_norbury) July 6, 2016
Westwood leaving #avfc would greatly reduce the amount of corners he'd take. So I'm all for it.— Ross Hopkins (@ross_hopkins) July 6, 2016
If we get 6 million off burnley for westwood we have well and truely pulled there pants down best bit of business avfc have eva done #avfc— Tom King (@thomasavfc12) July 6, 2016
On the basis of Westwood's performances over last few seasons, I wouldn't be too disappointed to see him go. Better players out there #AVFC— Alex Franklin (@AFranklin_AVFC) July 6, 2016
£6m for Ashley Westwood. Struggling to comprehend what that fee is based on. Done very little at #avfc exceptional business for Villa.— Jon Connell (@jkconnell86) July 6, 2016
I like Westwood. Decent player, comitted to the team but there are plenty players like him around there. I'd sell him for 6m #avfc— Pyrex Muller (@o11ero) July 5, 2016
Burnley want Westwood as they are on the look out for additions to replace Joey Barton.
Barton moved to Rangers earlier in the transfer window, leaving Sean Dyche’s side with a big void in the centre of their midfield.
Villa, meanwhile, are understood to be mulling over whether to sell Westwood.
While the former Crewe man was once expected to be part of Di Matteo’s plans, the scale of the offer would provide them with added funds to invest in other areas of their side.
