The Aston Villa man seems a tad confused about his situation at the club.

Aston Villa starlet Adama Traore has given an interview to Footmali TV about his future at Villa Park.

The 20-year-old joined Aston Villa under Tim Sherwood last summer, but the jet-heeled winger endured a frustrating first season in the West Midlands after leaving Barcelona.

The Spanish ace made nine Premier League appearances but was unable to have much of an impact as Villa consigned themselves to life in the Championship after finishing bottom of the table with 17 points.

But Traore did show flashes of his undoubted potential - especially under Sherwood, who was fired in October of last year - and it would not be beyond the realms of possibility for another club to come in for him this summer.

And the man himself does not appear to be all that certain about his situation at Aston Villa - not only in regards to his future at the club, but the length of his actual contract.

"I still have a contract at Villa. God willing, you will hear more shortly," he told Footmali TV, translated by The Birmingham Mail.

Asked how long his contract is, Traore responded: "3 years. No, 2 years."

It was reported by ESPN and The Guardian when he signed that Traore is actually contracted to the club for four more years, after seemingly penning a five-year contract last August.

Aston Villa spent roughly £10 million on bringing him to the club.
