According to reports from Tuttosport, Tottenham Hotspur have joined in the race to sign Juventus player Roberto Pereyra and the midfielder could be made available for £16 million.
Tottenham have already made a positive impact in the summer transfer market so far by landing the services of Victor Wanyama from Southampton for a bargain £11 million and Spurs are currently believed to be ramping up their pursuit of Dutch international Vincent Janssen as well.
Given the quality in the Tottenham squad, it is believed that manager Mauricio Pochettino will not be looking to sign too many players this summer after he signs a new striker but new revelations had claimed that the Argentine manager is also keen on German international Jonas Hector (Express).
Now in fresh links, Tuttosport have claimed that Tottenham are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Pereyra as well.
Pereyra joined Juventus from Udinese on a permanent deal at the start of last season following a prior successful loan spell but the midfielder really struggled for regular minutes on the pitch, being limited to only 16 appearances in all competitions.
It is clear to see that Pereyra is now surplus to requirements at Juventus and the Argentine international is widely expected to be leaving Turin this summer.
The likes of Napoli and Watford were reported (by Gianluca Di Marzio) to be keen on signing Pereyra and now in further developments even Tottenham have joined the race for the 25-year-old.
Juventus are believed to be happy to allow Pereyra to leave but have set an asking price of around £16 million and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham agree to pay such a substantial amount to sign the midfielder.
