Callum Robinson has taken to social networking site Twitter to send a heartfelt message to Aston Villa.
Robinson has left Villa to join Championship rivals Preston North End. The 21-year-old forward has signed a three-year contract with Preston, as announced on the club’s official website on Monday.
According to the statement on Preston’s official website, Robinson turned down the offer of a new deal from Villa to join the Lilywhites.
Robinson has taken to Twitter to send an emotional message to everyone at Villa, including the fans.
This is not the first time that Robinson will play in a Preston shirt. The England Under-20 international forward has had two loan spells at Deepdale, and he has thanked the club’s fans on Twitter for their supportive messages.
Thank you to all the @pnefc fans for all the positive tweets! Really happy to sign a 3 year deal at a club like Preston, lets do this— Callum Robinson (@CallumRobbo37) July 4, 2016
Meanwhile, Villa midfielder Gary Gardner has wished Robinson the best of luck at Preston.
Preston narrowly missed out on a top-10 finish in the Championship last season, but it should still be considered a successful campaign.
Simon Grayson’s side finished above Queens Park Rangers, Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest in the league table.
The Lilywhites will be aiming to do something similar next season, and perhaps even aim for the Championship playoffs.
