West Ham United want a bit more than an Italian club have offered, it seems.
The 26-year-old endured an injury-hit 2015-16 campaign, starting 10 Premier League games but the Ecuador attacker still managed four goals.
Sky Sports Italia have reported that Lazio have come forward with a loan opportunity in which the Italian club would be obligated to sign him for around £10 million next summer.
However, the report goes on to claim that West Ham would want somewhere in the region of £12.6 million straight away, instead of the loan agreement.
Some West Ham fans might be reluctant to see him leave. With his pace and a decent finishing prowess, he is a menace to opposing defences but manager Slaven Bilic may not rate him as highly as his predecessor Sam Allardyce did.
He joined under Allardyce in 2014 and netted four times in the Premier League, having enjoyed a fruitful World Cup in Brazil after scoring three goals.
