According to the Telegraph, Watford are emerging as serious candidates to sign Saido Berahino.

The striker is a possibility to leave West Brom this summer after a disappointing year at the Hawthorns.

Stoke City have been in negotiations over a possible deal for the past three weeks but are reluctant to pay over £15 million for player who has just a year left on his contract.

They had made a verbal offer for Berahino last week, but the two clubs are still some way apart on their valuation.

The Baggies are looking for a fee of around £20 million for their man after resisting offers from Tottenham Hotspur last summer.

It appears that is not a price Stoke are willing to pay according to the Telegraph, but Watford are happy to match that price and could now put in a bid in the coming days.

They have already added Isaac Success to their forward options this summer but the report claims Berahino is another priority target for them.

They will now firm up their interest with a formal bid and it will be interesting to see if West Brom are willing to sell.
