Everton are interested in signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Sheffield United in the summer transfer window, according to The Liverpool Echo.

It has been reported that Everton are set to agree a £1 million deal with United to secure the services of Calvert-Lewin this summer.

The 19-year-old is a highly-rated forward and has been on the books of the Blades since 2005.

The teenage forward played on loan for Northampton Town in League Two last season, scoring 10 goals in the process.

It has been reported by The Liverpool Echo that should Calvert-Lewin complete from his move from League One club United, then he will join Everton’s Under-21 side.

It seems that Everton see Calvert-Lewin as a long-term prospect and have no immediate plans to include him in the first team.

Perhaps it would be best for the forward if the Toffees loan him back to United or any other club in the lower leagues for the 2016-17 campaign.

It would be more helpful for Calvert-Lewin if he plays competitive football even in League One than feature for Everton’s Under-21 side next season.
