Nir Bitton's future at Celtic is currently uncertain, following the appointment of Brendan Rodgers.
According to a report in the Daily Express, Espanyol have made a £6 million bid for Celtic midfielder Nir Bitton.
Bitton’s future at Parkhead is up in the air at the moment, with some doubts over whether he will remain with the Glasgow club.
Bitton’s form dropped off towards the end of last campaign, and although his talent is obvious, there have been some suggestions that Brendan Rodgers could be set to offload the Israel international.
Espanyol are believed to be leading the race for his signature, with Celtic officials reportedly admitting that the are aware of interest in the midfielder.
Bitton has been at Celtic since 2013, after being scouted while playing for FC Ashdod.
The 24-year-old has turned out to be a good addition for Celtic, and racked up over 100 appearances for the Scottish club.
Bitton played 49 times for Celtic last term, and he scored on 10 occasions.
Whether Bitton remains part of Brendan Rodgers’ plans remains to be seen, and it seems that Celtic’s determination to keep hold of the combative midfielder will be tested this summer.
