France's Blaise Matuidi in action
French midfielder Blaise Matuidi could be on the verge of a shock switch to Manchester United, according to reports.

Matuidi is currently on duty with the French national team at Euro 2016, with it reported he was granted a day off to sort out his future.
Monday was also Jose Mourinho's first official day at work as United manager, while the midfielder's agent is Mino Raiola, who has played a part in helping the Red Devils clinch deals for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Blaise Matuidi, Paul Pogba, Patrice Evra
Matuidi would immediately strengthen United's midfield, and while 29-years-old, has a few years left in him at the very top of his game.
His athleticism and tough tackling will bring a dynamism in the middle of the pitch they often lacked last season.
Fans may harbour dreams of re-signing Paul Pogba, but bringing in Matuidi would be cheaper and nearly as effective.
Here is a look at how supporters reacted on Twitter to the suggestions Matuidi could sign...
Matuidi could be coming to United , great player and he will add an energy to the midfield that we've been lacking #MUFC— Luke De-benedictis (@LukeDebenPT) 4 July 2016
If reports in France are true that Matuidi PSG has left the French camp for transfer talks with Utd then WOW!!— MANCHESTERisRED (@DaysUnited) 4 July 2016

As much of a beast matuidi is I think schneiderlin can just do as good if given the chance, he's in a tinpot league #MUFC— Busby (@BusbyManor) 4 July 2016
Matuidi would be a fantastic signing, and I expect he would be relatively cheap considering he's 29 and PSG already have a replacement #mufc— UnitedOverview (@UnitedOverview) 4 July 2016
