Derby County’s Will Hughes has been linked with Manchester United.
According to The Sun, Manchester United are keen on signing Derby County’s Will Hughes.
The report claims that United boss Jose Mourinho is looking at the Rams prospect in order to boost his side’s homegrown rota, while Derby are said to be want a fee in the region of £7 million.
United have already been busy in the transfer market this summer, bringing in the likes of Eric Baily, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund.
While all three will add greatly to United’s first-team squad, it perhaps leaves them a little short on British-born players and Mourinho’s next target is to seemingly add domestic stars.
Hughes came through the youth ranks at Derby and is widely regarded as one of the best prospects in the country, having made more than 100 league appearances despite his young age.
The 21-year-old became England’s second youngest player to feature for the U21 side, and his progress hasn’t gone unnoticed as many see him as one of the Championships best midfielders.
Hughes is extremely comfortable on the ball, posseses great balance and vision and often plays his way out of tight spots which is very reminiscent of the way the Spanish like to play their football.
The report goes on to say that Derby would demand a figure in the region of £7 million for his services, a figure which would represent an absolute bargain in today’s market considering his potential.
