Wanyama joined Tottenham from Premier League rivals Southampton last month.
According to The London Evening Standard, Spurs had to pay the Saints a transfer fee of £11 million in order to secure the services of the Kenya international this summer.
The 25-year-old will arrive at White Hart Lane with a strong reputation, having established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League over the past three seasons.
The Kenya international joined Southampton from Scottish Premiership giants Celtic in the summer of 2013.
Wanyama soon became a key figure in the Saints’ team and one of the best in his position in the Premier League.
The former Beerschot midfielder scored one goal and created 15 chances in 30 Premier League matches for Southampton last season.
Wanyama had a pass accuracy of 82% and a shot accuracy of 21%, and won 64 headers, 23 dribbles and 71 tackles.
