Since taking charge at Celtic, Brendan Rodgers appears to have targeted players from the Championship to bring to Parkhead.

Celtic have already signed Moussa Dembele from Fulham, and they are linked with both Chris Gunter and Steven Caulker.

In this piece, we take a look at three other Championship players, Rodgers should consider taking to Glasgow with him.

Henri Lansbury (Nottingham Forest)

Lansbury has been linked with a move away from Forest for some time, but the central midfielder has always stayed.

The Reds have generally deployed Lansbury in a defensive midfield role in recent times, but towards the end of last campaign he was given more freedom to get forward and he thrived.

Lansbury would offer Celtic creativity and combativeness if he did join, and he has the technical ability to fit in well in a Rodgers’ side.

The stumbling block in the deal could be the price tag, as Forest would be unlikely to allow Lansbury to leave on the cheap.

Alfie Mawson (Barnsley)

Celtic are understood to be on the look out for a new central defender, and Mawson would be a good addition.

The youngster has emerged as one of the finest talents in the Football League, through his performances at Wycombe Wanderers and Barnsley.

Mawson is capable with the ball at his feet, but he also is a robust defender and he would add quality to Celtic’s squad.

Lewis Dunk (Brighton)

Brighton's Lewis Dunk

Like Mawson, Dunk is another defender who looks to be capable of performing at a level higher.

The Brighton defender was a key part of their team last season, but after Chris Hughton’s side failed to earn promotion to the Premier League it could be tough to keep hold of Dunk this summer.

Celtic would likely have to pay a big fee to sign Dunk, but he has the quality to make a move worthwhile.
