Rodney Marsh believes that Swansea City have made an excellent signing by agreeing a deal for Queens Park Rangers midfielder Leroy Fer.

Sky Sports have reported today that Swansea have agreed a fee for Fer with QPR of just over £4 million.

Fer was on loan at the Liberty Stadium for the back end of last season, where he impressed with his performances.

And Marsh believes that the Dutch midfielder will continue to thrive, as he is suited to playing in the Premier League.

Fer has been sacrificed by QPR, as the London side look to cut their costs to cope with Championship football.

The Dutch midfielder is one of QPR’s top earners, and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink wanted to get him off his side’s wage bill to free up room for more additions.

Fer made 11 appearances for Swansea last season, following his arrival at the Welsh club on loan.

In total, Fer spent two years at QPR. He played 50 times for Rangers, and scored on eight occasions.
