Liverpool have accepted a bid from Fenerbache for the defender.
The defender is expected to leave Liverpool this summer having fallen out of favour under manager Jurgen Klopp.
Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho were the preferred central defensive partnership last season under the German, with the Croatian showing improvement under his leadership.
Kolo Toure was also used when needed, while Lucas Leiva even featured in the centre of defence when injuries struck the side at the beginning of 2016.
The arrival of Joel Matip on a free transfer from Schalke has added to Klopp’s options for next season, and as a result Skrtel is likely to depart Anfield sooner rather than later.
So far there has only been one offer for his services, from Turkish side Fenerbaçhe, who have had a £5.5 million bid accepted by Liverpool.
However, according to the Mirror, Skrtel is waiting to see if any other offers materialise before deciding on his future.
He may well be hoping that a bid from a Premier League side comes his way, although given his performances last season that seems unlikely.
