According to talkSPORT, Burnley and West Bromwich Albion are eyeing a move for Leeds United captain Liam Cooper.

The defender was one of Leeds’ star men last season, despite an indifferent campaign that saw them finish 13th in the Championship.

He skippered the side on a regular basis and his consistent performances have reportedly caught the attention of two Premier League sides.

Burnley are not necessarily in the market for a new defender but may need to find a replacement for Michael Keane at some point.

The defender has rejected a new deal at Turf Moor amid continued interest from Premier League champions Leicester City. Should he leave, Cooper could be an ideal replacement for him.

New Leeds manager Garry Monk is keen to keep the 24-year-old at Elland Road though, as he looks to turn them into challengers in the Championship next season.
